A transitioners must have
Being a die hard Shea Moisture fan it’s so hard choosing which line is my favourite. The distinctive orange packaging is classic Shea Moisture style, with that being said, the Raw Shea Butter Line has been amazing at taming my transitioning hair. Formulated with Shea Butter, Sea Kelp and Argan Oil, this line helps to restore hair that is dry, damaged and transitioning.
Sea Kelp – A mineral rich nutrition which seals and smoothes cuticles.
Argan Oil – Restores shine while helping to promote hair elasticity.
Organic Shea Butter –Deeply moisturises while conditioning the hair and scalp.
There are several other products from this line which included:
Rhassoul Clay Shampoo Bar
Extra Moisture Transitioning Milk
Damage Repair Hair & Scalp Serum
On – The – Go Conditioning Hair Fragrance
I have yet to try the rest but for me these three products have been a staple part of my wash day.
MOISTURE RETENTION SHAMPOO
In true Shea Moisture style, this shampoo is free from sulphates Parabens, Phthalates, Prophylene. Mineral Oil and Petrolatum. On the first use, this shampoo can lather really quickly. While this is a great shampoo. I did find my hair a little dryer than I would have liked, therefore I like to pre poo over night with a mixture of Sweet Almond and Coconut Oil to help keep some of the softness and not strip my strands too much of its natural oils.
Hands down this conditioner has made it to my top 5 staples list. Not only does it provide great slip, I have recently started to use it as a leave-in. This technique is definitely great for someone who is traveling or likes to use as little different products as possible. Paired with my favourite DIY Aloe Vera leave-in spray and the Flora & Curl Superfruit Hair Oil, this combination has my transitioning curls on fleek. Giving me so much definition I don’t even need a gel. This conditioner is very moisturising and fortifies the hair while detangling, repairing and restoring damaged hair.
DEEP TREATMENT MASQUE
I love a good deep conditioner and this one is just that. Teamed with my favourite oil and heat cap for the ultimate deep conditioning experience, this raw shea butter hair masque leaves my hair feeling super soft and moisturised. It rehydrates, enriches my strands and protects my curls, and as I still have my relaxed ends my hair feels stronger than ever. As always with any deep conditioner I mix in a few tablespoons of my favourite oils, along with placing the oil directly on my scalp so I can also do a hot oil treatment. Killing to birds with one stone right!
Happy curls = happy life!
I know it’s a tough decision to make, but what is your favourite Shea Moisture line?
