As much as I love hair products, I LOVE beauty products too. With the weather still being cold, my oily/combination and eczema prone skin has been going through some things lately and has needed some extra TLC. Along with going dairy free and drinking more water, I wanted to share with you some of my staple products that have kept my skin looking flawless and under control.
I have tried may brands over the years to see what works with my oily/combination skin, and Liz Earle is the one skincare brand I always seem to go back to. Infused with naturally active ingredients, Liz Earle is one beauty brand that does not disappoint. It’s like having a mini spa pamper day but for your face!
Step one: Cleanse
The Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser is filled with naturally active ingredients of Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa Butter and Eucalyptus Essential Oil to cleanse and gently exfoliate the skin making it smoother and clearer. It has a nice thick and creamy consistency that glides onto the skin and instantly makes it feel softer. I then wipe of with a hot cloth and finish with a splash of cold water.
Step two: Tone
The Instant Boost Skin Tonic has ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Calendula, Cumber, Rose-scented Geranium and Vitamin E to revitalise, smooth and tone my skin giving it a radiant glowing look. This toner is so refreshing, non drying and contains no alcohol which is something I find common in most toners. This is perfect for calming my sensitive skin.
Step three: Apply Serum
Given as a birthday gift from Sephora, I came across the Caudalíe Vinoperfect Radiance Serum while in the States last year. I like to apply this after I tone and before I moisturise. I love the light weight consistency and the feeling of the product being like air on my face. Using the serum sets my face for the day. My face feels more hydrated, supple, has a nice glow and I have noticed the complexion of my skin has become more even. My face does not feel weighed down or feel like there is too much product on in any way. I will definitely be purchasing the full size. This is amazing at giving your skin that extra layer of moisture.
Step four: Moisturise
With ingredients such as Borage and avocado oil, Echinacea, Beta-Carotene and Vitamin E, the Skin Repair Light Moisturiser for combination/oily skin gives my face life! It makes my skin feel smoother looking and gives it a brighter appearance. It is very light and pumps out in small doses so you are able to control the little amount that comes out and not layer the cream on too thick. A little does go a long way!
Palmers have been around for years with both hair and skincare products. Their Cocoa Butter body cream is bae! But they also have good facial products too. Introduced to me by Treasure Tress, I am loving the Palmers Purifying Enzyme Mask. With Vitamin E, natural Kaolin Clay and Papaya, this mask purifies, exfoliates and smooths my skin. Applying a thin layer, I like to use this twice a week before cleansing to give my face a deep cleanse and draw out any impurities. This mask leaves my skin feeling refreshed.
Whether I’m going to work or going to bed, I always have to finish my facial routine with lip balm. This year I have been loving the Palmers Cocoa Butter Flip Balms which I have in all three flavours. Creamy Coconut, Juicy Watermelon and Rip Mango. They are super moisturising and smell so good which makes wearing them really hard as they smell good enough to eat. Made from pure Cocoa Butter and Vitamin E along with Coconut oil, Watermelon extract and Mango extract, they soften and soothe my dry lips and keep them moisturised for hours. The packaging is super cute and these little gems are super convenient with their flip top lids. Definitely a must buy!
Every so often, I do like to use a gel based cleanser to “clarify” my face. I have invested in the Nspa Expert Facial Cleansing brush (review coming soon)! I felt like I was the only one out there who didn’t own one lol. I think this will help give my face more of a deeper cleanse.
Do you have a particular beauty regime or any beauty products that you swear by? Lets start a discussion, I’m always on the look out for more.
P.S. Has anyone tried the Elemis Superfood collection or a beauty brand called Fresh? I’m dying to try these brands and add to my ever growing collection.
