Holiday hair goodies

Hey lovelies!!!

Product overload I know, but it’s not often I get to go on holiday and shop till I drop! I wanted to share with you all the goodies I purchased while away in Toronto and New York. Having time away I was able to relax which made me feel and look great.

Of course I had to stock up on my Victoria Secret and a few Sephora beauty products. I mainly purchased a lot of hair products which are not sold in the UK, but also stocked up on a few of my favs as I have found out you get way more product for your money state side.

I LOVE The States and Canada for their size of products. I was amazed to see how HUGE the sizes can be and for the same amount of money we pay in the UK for a smaller size.
I have always wanted to try Suave Professionals Shampoo and Conditioner ($4.89 for 828ml), so picked up the 100% infused natural Almond and Shea Butter blend. Salon proven to moisturise as well as the Aveda Dry Remedy line, it replenishes as it cleanses and nourishes the hair.  My hair is not necessarily damaged, but I do like to use products that help prevent me from damage and are moisturising.

I am a HUGE fan of Shea Moisture and picked up their Raw Shea Butter Moisture Retention Shampoo and the 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner ($11.79 each for 577ml). I haven’t tried these lines yet but am looking forward to it. The Coconut Oil line is infused with Coconut Milk & Acacia Senegal and helps to cleanse, nourish, rehydrate and soften. The Shea Butter line helps to fortify & restore dry damaged or transitioning hair. Perfect for me as I am 8 months post relaxer.

Another product I picked up was the Viva Curl Whipped Coconut Creme Cowash by Renpure ($9.89 for 473ml). I decided to go with a cowash instead of a shampoo and conditioner as I prefer to cowash my hair while rocking protective styles. I also like using cowashes to make my own DIY deep conditioners. Adding in honey, an avocado or banana for extra goodness.

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner ($9.89 for 250ml) treats extra dry, over-processed and colour treated hair leaving it feeling soft, smooth and totally touchable all day after a single use. I have always wanted to try this conditioner as I have seen it all over YouTube, and as long as it’s anything to do with hair products, I’m on it.

Maui Moisture is new to the UK but I assume it has been Stateside for ages. I picked up their Heal & Hydrate Shea Butter Hair Mask ($9.79 for 340g) which I will use with the Shea Moisture Shea Butter Shampoo. I have heard Maui Moisture and Shea Moisture are similar therefore I will be mixing and matching the two brands. This hair mask can also be used as a leave-in treatment. Bonus! If the mask works a treat I will buy the matching shampoo and conditioner and both use Pure Aloe Juice as a first ingredient.

Can you see the common theme with all these products? Coconut and Shea butter give my hair life, so I am looking forward to seeing how these respond to my hair, especially while protective styling and the cold weather ahead. All products are free from sulphates, parabens, Mineral Oil and Petrolatum which is a bonus.

Watch out for my following blog posts revealing my final thoughts on these products.

Have a good day loves
