SHEA & COCONUT LINE
THE CARNIVAL EDITION
As the last Bank Holiday weekend of the year has been and gone, it was time for CARNIVALLLLL!!!!! What better way to celebrate than receiving the August TreasureTress Carnival Edition Box. This month is another takeover featuring products from Gro Healthy. The Shea & Coconut line is rich with Omega 3 and is free from petrolatum, mineral oil, sulphates, phthalates, colourants and parabens.
I have to say I LOVE this line!!! It gave my hair so much moisture and didn’t leave my hair feeling stripped of any natural oils. I was actually surprised that all products worked so well with both my relaxed and natural hair. 5 full-sized products are included in this months box which are the:
Shea & Coconut Moisturising Shampoo
Shea & Coconut Moisture Rich Conditioner
Shea & Coconut Flat Out Frizz Fighter
Shea & Coconut Oil and the
Shea & Coconut Curling Custard
I used all products but the Curling Custard. The leave in conditioner I used from the previous June TreasureTress box.
Both the Moisturising Shampoo and Moisture Rich Conditioner helps repair and rebuild while moisturising the hair. Coconut moisturises, adds shine and helps promote growth, Shea nourishes roots and soothes the scalp while the Omega 3 helps rebuild, strengthen and protect hair from within. After shampooing I thought I would have to follow-up with a co wash, just to bring the moisture back. But the shampoo left my hair feeling super soft and not stripped at all. Reading down the ingredients list I noticed the conditioner has menthol in it, hence why it gave my scalp a tingling feeling. Almost like my scalp was breathing. I also suffer from dry scalp so this conditioner was perfect as I usually find other dry scalp shampoos and conditioners on the market can leave my hair feeling super dry. The Leave in Conditioner gave my hair a lot of slip. As I am transitioning I usually blow dry after washing to help daily maintenance more manageable and as I am cutting down wash days to every 2 weeks and the use of direct heat, I thought I’d give air drying a go (The last time I tried wasn’t successful). But this time I used the Flat Out Frizz Fighter as a moisturiser, coated my hair well from roots to tip, sealed with the Shea & Coconut Oil and then plaited hair loosely at the roots to dry. The results came out pretty well and can definitely feel my natural curls.
Once I go fully natural and try more wash and go styles, I will definitely be trying the Shea & Coconut Curling Custard.
